Who We Are
Biography of Kim Dude
Kim Dude has been working at the University of Missouri-Columbia for the last twenty years. Kim served as the Assistant Director of Residential Life-Programs for many years, and for the last twelve years she has been the Director of the Wellness Resource Center.
All together, Kim has written and received seven grants from the U.S. Department of Education and eleven from the Missouri Division of Highway Safety. She recently received a large grant from the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse to help support a state-wide coalition of public colleges and universities called partners In Prevention.
The Wellness Resource Center has been chosen as one of the top ten prevention programs in the country for fourteen years by the Inter Association Task Force on Alcohol and other Substance Abuse Issues. The U.S. Department of Education's Higher Education Center named the University of Missouri's WRC programs as being one of the top 7 model prevention programs in the country.
Kim has been a keynote speaker on over 30 occasions. She has presented over 70 programs on alcohol and drug abuse prevention, and 80 speeches on issues related to leadership, programming, supervision and motivation at professional conferences. She also has consulted with institutions of higher education all over the country on creating, maintaining and enhancing their prevention efforts.
Kim serves on the City Substance Abuse Advisory Council, the State Advisory Council for the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and as a Center Associate for the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention.
Kim also serves as a consultant on several national projects including the Century Council's Alcohol 101 Plus project and their national publication ("Parents, You Are Not Done Yet!") that has been distributed to millions of parents of college students across the country. In addition, Kim is on the faculty of the National Social Norms Resource Center.
