Driver Safety Instructions
Information and referral - assistance with course selection and information about community resources.
Education for Independence - a free program for single parents and displaced (widowed, separated, or divorced) homemakers that includes counseling, job training, and support services. An application and appointment are required.
Waivers for underage students - contact an educational counselor to learn more.
Educational counselors are available to assist students and prospective students with a variety of services and resources.

You may also arrange to meet with an ACE educational counselor at a local SkillSource Center.
Financial Assistance
ACE Scholarships - are available for low-income adults living or working in Fairfax County who wish to enhance their job skills. ACE scholarship application.
Perkins Scholarship - for adults who wish to complete high school as well as pursue career options through Adult and Community Education. Contact Dr. Stanley Jones.
Payment Plans - selected, long-term programs are eligible for payment plans. An appointment with an educational counselor is required.
Learning Availabe Online
Outreach Learning Labs are locations for Adult Skill Development classes at adultdriversedtexas.com and Adult High School completion. New Students must attend an Information and Placement Session.
Computers and Tutors (CAT) lab in room K-26 at Woodson Adult High School is open to all Fairfax County residents. It offers free access to the internet and a variety of educational software. Call to make an appointment. Assistance by a volunteer tutor - Students who are working toward high school completion or GED test preparation can study with a tutor weekly in a nearby library. Call the Volunteer Learning Program.
Tutorial Assistance - Tutors are needed for day and evening hours to work one-on-one with adult learners in libraries or adult learning labs, and with adolescents in alternative school settings. Call the ACE Volunteer Learning Program
Veterans’ Education
ACE is a certified provider of education and training for veterans. Veterans can use their educational benefits to pay for certain apprenticeship courses of study. For more information, call an educational counselor.
VA State War Veteran Honorary Diploma - If you were unable to complete high school due to your military service, you are eligible to receive a diploma in recognition of your service and life experience. .
