Inland Navigation and Watchstandingn
Whether you are a novice or experienced boater, receive hands-on training utilizing charts, plotting tools, government publications, and workbook exercises. Upon class completion, students are able to plot a course, create an inland route, plot their position, calculate Course Made Good, Speed Made Good, Estimated Time of Arrival, and determine Compass Error. Students learn the same techniques used in the navigation plotting module of the USCG deck officer license exam. 2 sessions @ 8 hrs each.n
Automotive Electrical Systems
Learn about the overall operation of the electrical system on your vehicle. This course provides practical, real-world information on automotive electrical components, devices and systems, their purpose, how they work and how they interact. Topics include: starting, charging, ignition, gauges and instruments, lights and accessories. Troubleshooting techniques, reading schematics and the proper use of volt/ohm/amp meters will be taught and demonstrated with hands-on exercises. Systems unique to antique, off-road and specialized vehicles will also be addressed. 7 sessions @ 3 hrs each.n

Pack up the camera, the lights, and all the accessories and go out and shoot some footage outside a studio. Gain the knowledge to create a report, documentary, or movie. Through hands-on training, conceptualize a field project by completing a storyboard, go on location with FPA's professional-grade, digital cameras, field tripods, and lights. Studio Package
Perhaps you would like to shoot a show, talk show, sports, news, or interview segment. This beginning Studio Package class will train the participant in studio control room operations, basic audio techniques, use of the character generator, video switcher, lighting, and Tele-Prompter skills. Digital Audio Fundamentals (Audio Editing)
Audio recording today is largely done in the digital domain. In this workshop learn the basics of digital recording, editing, and processing, as well as mixing voice with sound effects and music, on Adobe Auditions. Produce promos for use on our WEBR or WRLD channels. Also create long-form radio drama, and gain an understanding of audio production necessary to create a small, home digital studio and put sound up on personal web pages.
